Kidney from a cat

Question 1: Describe the lesion.

There are multifocal, irregularly shaped depressions in the cortical surface of the kidney. On cut section, corresponding to these areas, there is a faintly wedge-shaped area (with the point oriented towards the medulla) that is pale white to tan and firm.

Question 2: What type of necrosis is illustrated here?

Coagulative necrosis (these are chronic renal infarctions)
